Making Strides Against Breast Cancer | WJTV

The American Cancer Society is thanking walkers in this year's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5-K for raising nearly $200,000 for breast cancer research and support. News Channel 12 is proud to partner with the Cancer Society in this year's seventh annual walk

Among the walkers taking to the streets of Jackson was Angila Parson, diagnosed with cancer two years ago.

"The effects on the body, you know, it's harsh," she tells us, proudly wearing a pink wig. "I have hair today, and I just want to be different in the route today."

Doctors recently told her she's in remission--nervous news many of the women at this year's walk can remember hearing.
