From Gem with Love | UK Lifestyle Blog: Scrapbook: Chicago Edition

So me and Dey had the most amazing holiday, we managed to fit so many things in to 12 days and we are very proud of ourselves, and very grateful to our family for putting up with us and our relentless 'what shall we do today' attitude. In just 12 days we visited Chicago, where we drank cocktails at the top of 96 floors, stepped out on to a glass balcony at 103 floors, caught a boat around Lake Michigan, shopped till we dropped, ate the most amazing Italian food EVER, found the route 66 sign, discovered a place better than Subway, embraced neck ache staring at skyscrapers, saw a movie being filmed and died a little inside when we had to leave such beauty.

Caught a 5 hour train through Illinois, to the south. Where we sunbathed, hired a boat and swam Rend Lake, found a drive through Indian restaurant, a drive through Starbucks...a drive through everything. Visited Garden of The Gods and stood in awe at Camel Rock, ate Chinese, visited family and drove 5 hours to...

Indiana, where we embraced American life. Went shopping at 'Malls', ate Five Guys burgers, Cheesecake Factory gumbo, pasta at Stone Creek, steak at Texas Roadhouse, went canoeing in Turkey Run National Park, 'cooked out', lay by the pool, soaked in a hot tub, visited downtown and really did cry when we had to catch our flight home.

We miss you already America, thanks for showing us a good time.
