PHILADELPHIA (AP) ? Jay-Z's entrance said it all: He bounced up and down on top of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, mimicking Rocky before he took the stage in front of nearly 50,000. His song "Made In America" played in the background.

Jay-Z, like Rocky Balboa, has a rags to riches American dream story, and the 42-year-old entertainer ? who grew up in the Brooklyn projects and released his debut in 1996 ? shared some of that through songs in his 90-minute set Saturday night at the "Budweiser Made In America" festival.

He entered from the back of the stage after running down the steps to perform "Public Service Announcement." That was followed with the night's first cameo: A pre-recorded video with President Barack Obama.

Obama urged the crowd to vote this fall. He also said Jay-Z's story is "what Made In America means" and added that he enjoys listening to the rapper's music on his iPod.

Jay-Z headlined the first night of the two-day festival he curated, performing hits like "99 Problems," ''Dirt Off Your Shoulder," ''Big Pimpin'" and "Empire State of Mind." He called it "the first annual Made In America festival."

The event is the first kind for the entrepreneurial Jay-Z, who is married to superstar Beyonce and owns a music management company, fashion line, nightclub and restaurant; he's also a co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets.

"Since you were so good to me, Philly, I'm going to be good to you tonight, Philly," Jay-Z yelled.

Rappers Pusta T and Big Sean hit the stage, and Kanye West followed, receiving an electrifying roar from the crowd. They performed a medley of hits, such as "Mercy," ''Dance" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing."

Jay-Z also brought out his former prot?g?s and Philadelphians Freeway, Chris and Neff, as well as Memphis Bleek. Common, 2 Chainz and Swizz Beatz also made appearances.

The scene was colorful and energetic, as thousands of music fans shifted from the three stages on the Benjamin Franklin parkway to watch Skrillex, D'Angelo, Passion Pit, Janelle Monae, Calvin Harris and 10 other acts. Sunday's line-up includes Pearl Jam, Run DMC, Odd Future and Drake, who was in the crowd Saturday night.

The festival is being filmed as a documentary and will be directed by Ron Howard. Proceeds from the ticketed event will benefit United Way chapters.

Jay-Z closed the night with West, performing the smash hit "...In Paris." Then fireworks blasted.

Termites are a type of insect that eats wood for a fuel source, and if allowed to get inside the walls of someone's home can do a lot of damage. The majority of termites are wingless, but there are a few subterranean species that sprout wings once a year in order to fly off and start new colonies.

Termites are often mistakenly thought of as part of the ant family. Although they exhibit a lot of the social sets of ants and sometimes live in similar surroundings, beyond that they do not share a lot of the same traits. Some of the more distinctive differences between the two are that ants have antennae that are elbowed and termites do not. Ants tend to be slender at the waist while termites aren't. Although carpenter ants will burrow into wood, they don't consume it like a termite will. As a matter of fact, scientists have recently determined termite DNA to be closer to that of a cockroach than that of an ant.

Termites are similar to ants in that they live in colonies and adhere to a strict hierarchy. At the center of the nest is the queen with the king in attendance. She can lay several million eggs in her lifetime. The remainder of her colony is divided into soldiers and workers. The soldiers are responsible for protecting the nest and the queen, while the workers take care of the nest upkeep, including any needed expansion. They also take care of the larvae, and are tasked with finding and bringing back cellulose to feed everyone.

When termites eat wood fiber they put out large amounts of methane gas as a byproduct of the digestion process. Some ponder if this may contribute to global warming, as methane is considered a green house gas. On the other hand, termites consume a lot of the downed trees and other foliage in woodland areas, which helps keep the fuel source down in times of forest fires. Although considered a pest by many, termites do serve an important ecological purpose.

Desmond Tutu: Bush, Blair Should Face Trial Over Iraq

LONDON -- Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Desmond Tutu called Sunday for Tony Blair and George Bush to face prosecution at the International Criminal Court for their role in the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq

Tutu, the retired Anglican Church's archbishop of South Africa, wrote in an op-ed piece for The Observer newspaper that the ex-leaders of Britain and the United States should be made to "answer for their actions."

The Iraq war "has destabilized and polarized the world to a greater extent than any other conflict in history," wrote Tutu, who was awarded the Nobel prize in 1984.

"Those responsible for this suffering and loss of life should be treading the same path as some of their African and Asian peers who have been made to answer for their actions in the Hague," he added.

The Hague, Netherlands, based court is the world's first permanent war crimes tribunal and has been in operation for 10 years. So far it has launched prosecutions only in Africa, including in Sudan, Congo, Libya and Ivory Coast.

Tutu has long been a staunch critic of the Iraq war, while others opposed to the conflict ? including playwright Harold Pinter ? have previously called for Bush and Blair to face prosecution at the Hague.

"The then-leaders of the U.S. and U.K. fabricated the grounds to behave like playground bullies and drive us further apart. They have driven us to the edge of a precipice where we now stand ? with the specter of Syria and Iran before us," said Tutu, who last week withdrew from a conference in South Africa due to Blair's presence at the event.

While the International Criminal Court can handle cases of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, it does not currently have the jurisdiction to prosecute crimes of aggression. Any potential prosecution over the Iraq war would likely come under the aggression category.

The U.S. is among nations which do not recognize the International Criminal Court.

In response to Tutu, Blair said he had great respect for the archbishop's work to tackle apartheid in South Africa, but accused him of repeating inaccurate criticisms of the Iraq war.

"To repeat the old canard that we lied about the intelligence is completely wrong as every single independent analysis of the evidence has shown," Blair said. "And to say that the fact that Saddam (deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein) massacred hundreds of thousands of his citizens is irrelevant to the morality of removing him is bizarre."

However, Blair said that "in a healthy democracy people can agree to disagree."

In Britain, a two-year long inquiry examining the buildup to the Iraq war and its conduct is yet to publish its final report. The panel took evidence from political leaders including Blair, military chiefs and intelligence officers. Two previous British studies into aspects of the war cleared Blair's government of wrongdoing.

The Iraq war was bitterly divisive in the U.K. and saw large public demonstrations. However, Blair subsequently won a 2005 national election, though with a reduced majority.

?Not me,? said an exasperated-looking senior adviser, when asked who was responsible for Mr. Eastwood?s speech.

Troubled Perry High School shooter exhibited warning signs on Facebook

(CBS/AP) PERRY HALL, Md - Robert Gladden Jr., the 15-year-old accused of opening fire on a student on the first day of school at Perry High School, lists Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the two teenagers behind the Columbine massacre, as inspiration son his Facebook page, reports CBS Baltimore.

And on the morning of the shooting, the troubled 15-year-old posted: "First day of school, last day of my life."

Fellow students say that Gladden had gone to guidance counselors for help in the past, but apparently warning signs were missed.

Milton Borowy, the father of 17-year-old Daniel Borowy, the student who Gladden shot in the back, asked parents to be friends with their child on social media outlets, and to be more aware and "wake up to what the social media shows you," in an interview on Thursday with the Associated Press.

He also begged teenagers to speak out if they suspect a fellow student is in trouble.

"Don't be shy, don't be afraid," Milton Borowy said. "If there's something suspicious, if you see something, you have to tell a guidance counselor. If it turns out to be a joke, great."

According to CBS Baltimore, parents and doctors say that despite his injuries, Daniel Borowy, who has Down syndrome, is strong, determined, and cooperative. When he was allegedly shot? Gladden, Borowy sustained a bruised lung, fractured rib and a dinner-plate sized hole in his right chest that doctors are working to close.

Rosemary Borowy says that her son wants to leave the hospital though, as he has gestured to his mother by moving two fingers in a walking motion while on his breathing tube.

Prior to the shooting, Borowy was happy about returning to school, and was especially excited to spend time working in the community as a part of his vocational skills program.

Milton Borowy requested privacy for his family and has asked the church helping to raise money to pay for Borowy's medical bills and other family and friends to keep personal conversations private. He added that he still does not know the circumstances of the shooting and whether Gladden knew Borowy, but that he and his wife are staying focused on their son. ?
